K-12 programs

Students four years of age and older are assigned to the appropriate class at registration. Hanyu Pinyin phonetics complements the practice of teaching Mandarin as a second Language in B.C. Both the culturally rich, standard written form and simplified version are taught in the writing of Chinese characters. Various textbooks from Taiwan and China as well as locally prepared teaching materials are incorporated into the full range of course materials.

Each 16 session course is held on Saturdays from 09:30-12:00 or 13:00-15:30.
Courses begin Feb. 4, 2023. The fee is $219 per course.

Mathematics courses (CMSC1015)

Have 16 sessions on Saturdays from 12:30-14:00, 14:30-16:00 beginning Feb. 4, 2023. The fee is $299 per course. (Fee does not include course materials.)

Refunds due to student withdrawal

– Before course starts: All refunds are subject to an administration fee of 20% of the course fee.

– Cancellations must be received one day prior to the first day of class.

– Request must be submitted in writing by fax, e-mail to mandarinschool@langara.ca or in person to the program coordinator.

– 100% Refund Credit Alternative. We would be pleased to hold a 100% credit of the registration fee toward taking another Langara Continuing Studies course. This credit is valid for 12 months.

– After course has started: No refunds are issued.

Refund Payments

Fee payments made by credit card are refunded by means of a credit back to your
credit card account. All other refunds are made by cheque. Please allow 3 weeks for processing.
